How Many Community Service Hours To Graduate

Volunteer All students are required to exercise forty hours of community service over the course of their high school career in society to graduate. If a student has transferred from another school district, then they must complete x hours of community service for every yr they have been in the Fremont Unified School District. Students, make sure that the hours you complete are acceptable by review the FUSD Board Policy on Service Learning Hours.

2020-2021 Update:

Hours from the 2019-2020 and the 2020-2021 school years will exist nerveless at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Please go on forms in a safe identify and remember to make a copy of completed forms for your records.

Updated Hours Requirements:

Due to the district suspending Community Service for the 2020-2021 schoolhouse yr adjustments have been made to the graduation requirements for all four classes.

SENIORS (Class of 2022): New graduation requirement is xx hours.

JUNIORS (Grade of 2023): New graduation requirement is 20 hours.

SOPHOMORES (Class of 2024): New graduation requirement is 30 hours.

FRESHMEN (Class of 2025): Graduation requirement is 40 hours.

Quick tips for service:

Must provide service through a not-profit 501(c) organization
Y'all cannot receive payment for completing your hours
Maintenance or authoritative tasks will not exist accepted
- An example a task that would not exist accepted is filing paperwork or trimming bushes
Service learning must take identify exterior of school hours
Piece of work for a religious organization that benefits the customs at large and does not promote its religion (e.g., clothing drives, nutrient drives, feeding those in demand).
Hours spent preparation for services to exist provided are capped at five (v) hours and must be straight related to a community-service event.

Course of 2025 may non start completing their hours until the 2021-2022 schoolhouse yr begins.

Deadlines for the 2021-2022 School Year:

Date #1, Friday, Oct 8, 2021 by 4pm- All hours completed during the 2019-2020 school year, 2020-2021 school year, and over the summer (June through August 2021) for SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, and SENIORS are due.

Date #ii (SENIORS ONLY) Friday, May six, 2022 by 4pm - All hours are due for SENIORS.

Engagement #3, Fri, June 3, 2022 past 1pm - All hours completed during the 2021-2022 schoolhouse year are due for FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, and JUNIORS.
